Challenger from Dallas Plans Boots-on-the-Ground Campaign Against
Long Time Incumbent in May 2018 GOP Primary
Dallas, NC – Charlene High, a career school guidance counselor, church pianist and volunteer with the North Carolina Baptist Disaster Relief and Recovery Ministry has officially announced that she will challenge long-time incumbent Kelly Hastings in the Republican primary for House District 110 next May. She will soon launch her door-to-door “listening tour” in neighborhoods across the district.
“I believe competition in politics is healthy,” said Ms. High. “I’m offering my candidacy in House District 110 so the voters will have a conservative choice in the upcoming primary.”
“I believe that one of the primary responsibilities of a state legislator is to be approachable and listen to the voters. That’s why I’ll be knocking on doors throughout the district between now and the primary election.”
“I have strong conservative opinions on social and fiscal issues, but I’ll always be respectful of what voters in the district have to say. If the voters in House District 110 send me to Raleigh, I’ll be there to represent their interests – not my own personal interests.”
In addition to her professional career, Charlene has served as a volunteer with the North Carolina Baptist Disaster Relief and Recovery ministry. She has also served as a volunteer chaplain with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Rapid Response Team. Charlene is a member of the North Carolina Baptist Singers and Orchestra, a volunteer group that performs throughout the state.
House District 110 includes parts of Gaston and Cleveland counties. Readers who want more information about Charlene High’s campaign can visit www.CharleneHigh.com.
